Needlepoint & Cross-Stitch Framing in Mississauga & Brampton
Supreme Pictures provides needlepoint and cross-stitch framing in Mississauga and Brampton. Months of stitching deserves careful hands: we block and stretch your needlework square, mount it without glue or staples through the fabric, and frame it behind spacers and UV-filtering glass so the threads never touch the glazing. One customer told us her framed cross-stitch is now a family heirloom. That is the standard we frame to.
How we frame cross-stitch and needlepoint
Fabric art needs different handling than paper. Our cross-stitch framing process protects the fibres at every step:
Blocking & Stretching
Your piece is squared and hand-stretched over acid-free board, tension even in both directions so the weave sits straight without ripples.
Reversible Mounting
Stainless pins or lacing — never glue, never staples through the stitching. Your needlework can be removed undamaged decades from now.
Spacers & UV Glass
Spacers hold the glazing off the threads, and UV-filtering glass slows fading. Conservation mats add a border that frames the work without touching it.
We frame cross-stitch samplers, needlepoint canvases, embroidery, crewel work, and heirloom textiles like christening gowns and handkerchiefs. Hundreds of moulding styles and mat colours let you match the piece and the room it will hang in.
What needlework framing costs depend on
Every piece is quoted individually and approved before work begins. The price follows four factors: size of the stitched area, mounting method (pinning or hand-lacing), glazing (standard, UV-filtering or museum glass), and matting (single, double or fabric-wrapped). Small samplers sit at the low end; large pieces with museum glass and double mats cost more.
Turnaround for most needlework framing is five to ten business days. Tell us at drop-off if you are framing for a birthday, anniversary or wedding date and we will plan around it.

Cross-stitch framing questions, answered
How much does cross-stitch framing cost in Mississauga?
Each piece is quoted free at the counter. Price follows the stitched area’s size, the mounting method, the glass grade and the matting. Small samplers cost the least; large pieces with museum glass and double mats cost more. You approve the quote first.
Should I wash my cross-stitch before framing?
Yes, if the piece can take it. Hand-wash gently, rinse fully and press from the back while slightly damp. Bring it in clean and dry, and skip starch or sizing sprays — residues attract pests and yellow with age. We block and square it from there.
Do you use glue or staples on needlework?
Never through the stitching. We mount with stainless pins or hand-lacing over acid-free board, which holds the fabric taut and stays fully reversible. Your needlework can come out undamaged years later.
Does cross-stitch need glass in the frame?
We recommend it. Glass keeps dust, moisture and insects off the fibres, and UV-filtering glass slows thread fading. Spacers hold the glazing off the stitches so texture stays visible and threads never press flat.
How long does needlepoint framing take?
Most pieces are ready in five to ten business days. Hand-lacing and fabric-wrapped mats add time. Framing for a gift date? Tell us at drop-off and we plan the schedule around it.
Do you frame needlework for Brampton customers?
Yes, weekly. Brampton stitchers reach the studio in a short drive down Highway 410 or Dixie Road, with free parking at the door. Bring one piece or a whole gallery’s worth.
