Frame repairs we handle every week
A damaged frame rarely means a lost frame. Our workshop repairs the same problems week after week, and most pieces leave looking new. One customer brought in a shattered 4×3 ft frame; it went home looking brand new. We repair frames we sold and frames bought anywhere else.
Corner & Joint Repair
Split corners, loose mitres and failed joints re-glued, re-pinned and clamped square. The most common repair we see, and usually the fastest.
Glass & Acrylic Replacement
Cracked or missing glass replaced with standard, UV-filtering or anti-reflective glazing, cut to the exact size of your frame.
Finish & Surface Restoration
Chips, scratches and worn gilding touched up to match the original finish. Ornate and antique frames welcome.
Mat & Mount Replacement
Faded, stained or acid-burned mats replaced with fresh conservation matting that protects your art from further damage.
Backing & Hardware
New dust covers, hanging wire, D-rings and bumpers. Small parts, big difference — a secure back keeps the piece safe on the wall.
Full Frame Restoration
Water damage, warping or age. We rebuild what can be saved and tell you honestly when a new frame is the better value.
What frame repair costs depend on
Every repair is quoted on inspection, free of charge. Four factors set the price: the size of the frame, the type of damage, the materials needed (glass grade, mat stock, finish), and the condition of the piece inside. Simple corner repairs sit at the low end. Antique restoration with conservation materials costs more. You approve the exact price before we start — no surprises at pickup.
Turnaround for most repairs is two to five business days. Glass replacement is often same-day when stock is on hand. If you have a deadline, tell us when you drop off.
